Supporting local musicians has always been central to Wandering Turtle.
From 2003 - 2011, Wandering Turtle's storefront mission was to support local, regional and international artists and musicians. After closing the brick & mortar storefront in early 2011, Sweany Artworks & Wandering Turtle On-Line continues our commitment to art appreciation through this website. We carry handmade merchandise created by some of your favorite local artists and artisans as well as hand made works from around the world. We continually update and add new artists and artisans to our mix. We feature four main categories:

"Whenever I become discouraged (which is on alternate Tuesdays, between three and four), I lift my spirits by remembering: The artists are on our side! I mean those poets and painters, singers and musicians, novelists and playwrights who speak the world in a way that is impervious to assault because they wage the battle for justice in a sphere which is unreachable by the dullness of ordinary political discourse."– Howard Zinn, July 2001, American Historian, WWll War Veteran
